Story
I have been given the once in a lifetime opportunity to accompany a group of 50 other people on a trek of the Great Wall of China to raise money for St Barnabas House Hospice in October.
I only have five weeks to raise as much money as possible for the hospice, so I hope all my friends, family, colleagues and contacts will dig deep for this incredibly worthy charity.
As the Worthing Herald's senior reporter, I will be updating our website - www.worthingherald.co.uk - during the trek, and getting stories back to the news team for inclusion in the paper while I am away.
Stretching for 3,750 miles, the Great Wall zigzags its way across China . The St Barnabas Great Wall Challenge will be a five-day journey through the real China, trekking over watch-towers and battlements and conquering the 1,000 steps at Mutinayu – not for the faint hearted!
Money raised from the trek will be used to pay for a bedroom at the new hospice - a total of £48,300.
Supporting St Barnabas means a lot to me as my grandad, the lovely Peter Dale, passed away at the hospice over 10 years ago.
Thank you so much for your sponsorships, love Sarah xxx
