Story
Hi, I'm Pippa Pipsqueak!
I came into the care of Forever Hounds Trust just before the coronavirus lockdown.
I was brought to Gloucestershire where, due to the charity’s partnership with Teckels (Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust Charity of the Year 2020), a space was found for me in their kennels.
But, with coronavirus causing havoc across the animal rescue sector, the search was on for a foster place for as many of my fellow hounds awaiting homes as possible (so that we didn't have to stay in kennels long term, with limited access for volunteers).
Luckily for me, Sarah came forward to offer a foster home. Sarah is usually our Volunteer Events Coordinator, but with events severely restricted due to the coronavirus, and with her partner at home full time, she was able to offer a space for a foster pup.
A socially distanced meet up between Sarah's resident greyhound, Skye and me was arranged (we were on long leads so could get up close for a good snifferooney but the people could stay apart). Fortunately we got on, and I was soon off to my foster home.
In fact... things have gone so well that they've asked me to stay FOREVER!
I want to say a big thank you to Forever Hounds Trust, as well as raise awareness about the work of the charity. With help from my new paw-rents I'm aiming to complete a sponsored walk, walking 40 miles in a week (from 1st to 7th June 2020). All the funds I raise will go to Forever Hounds Trust to allow their amazing work to continue and more hounds like me to be rescued and find their forever homes too.
