We did it!!!!!!!!!!!! On Sunday 31st July a team of Shetland lasses put on their walking boots to raise money for SANDS, the stillbirth and neonatal charity. For organisers Sarah Hutcheson from Nesting and Sarah Hunter from Wadbister, SANDS is a charity which is very dear to them, two friends who have both sadly lost twins.
SANDS provides support for bereved parents and their families and promotes research to reduce the loss of babies lives. Sarah Hutcheson said "Fundraising for SANDS is something I wanted to do after I lost my twins, I found them very supportive and this walk is a way to raise funds for the charity to help them continue the good work they do."
The Sponsored walk covered a distance of 23 miles from Nesting to Hillswick with the rest of the team joining Sarah and Sarah at Mavis Grind, which was 13 miles in for Sarah and Sarah. We wish to thank you all for the donations we have received, smashing our original target of £1000!!!! The page will remain active for a few weeks yet, so keep the money coming in and help us make it to £3500!!! We are very proud of our acheivements and would like to thank everyone for your support!
