Haig Housing is the UK’s leading housing charity providing homes for veterans and their families. We support over 4,000 residents, aiming to help veterans in housing need; including those severely injured, whether transitioning into civilian life or in need of a helping hand in later years.

Story

Bill Cunningham, father of Sharon, Dalia, Matthew, Sarah and Emma, passed away on Monday Jan 11th. He died peacefully in St. Helier Hospital in South London.

Bill rocked all of our worlds with his quick wit, wry humour and fabulous taste in fashion and music. He left a lasting impression on everyone he met, quickly wrapping people into his orbit with charm, warmth - and a constant social media presence.

He was a wonderful grandfather to Jamal, Camron, Ella, Jaida, Honor and Tom, a great gift-giver and grand quiz master of the family.

We've had such a remarkable outpouring of warmth and support from so many folks around the world. In these times we are finding ways to grieve, commemorate and honour our father. We know so many people want to be a part of that and many have kindly offered to send flowers and other gifts. We are asking that you please consider donating to the Haig Housing Charity instead, in memory of our loving father and friend to all.

Our dad proudly served in the Royal Air Force from Libya to Malaysia, Britain to Brunei. After his service he came home and worked as a lagger and retired in the 90s. Since then he's lived in wonderful accommodations provided by the charity Haig Housing. They gave him a lovely home and warm support at all times and for that we are ever grateful.

From,

Sharon, Dalia, Matthew, and Sarah
