Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a life-shortening genetic condition that slowly destroys the lungs and digestive system. The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is the only UK-wide charity fighting for a life unlimited, when everyone living with CF can look forward to a long, healthy life. www.cysticfibrosis.org.uk

Story

For the time you are reading this page I want you to take a straw and breathe though the small space in the middle of it. This is just a tiny feeling of how it would feel to live with one of the UK most common life threatening restrictive lung conditions.

Cystic Fibrosis or CF affects around 9,000 people in the UK every year. Around 2 million people in the UK are carriers of the gene. CF is a genetic condition that affects the internal organs with a sticky mucus causing problems with breathing and digestion.

The reason I have chosen to raise money for the CF Trust is simple. I have a very good friend, Jen who is a fighter of the disease. I would never call her a sufferer as she has faced every challenge with such courage and determination.

Last year her life was turned around when she received a life changing double lung transplant, for which she had been waiting 18 months. Since then we have been able to attend her eagerly awaited marriage and has given her a new lease of life. By supporting me in my marathon run you will be supporting the CF Trust and those individuals who need it most.

I am aiming to run 3 hours and 15 minutes which will qualify me as an elite women for next year.

If you cannot support me financially then please visit the following page - it takes 2 minutes and it could save a life:

Thank you all and wish me luck
