Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

I am a speech therapist working with people with aphasia and have been fortunate enough to get to know Colin, founder of Say Aphasia, and all the wonderful work the charity is doing.

I have decided to do a sponsored night dive because although I have in excess of 160 day dives, I am really scared about diving in the dark. Thanks to Calypso Dive Centre in Gozo, I will do my first night dive and raise money for a cause I am passionate about.

As a wheelchair user myself I rely on physical ramps for access. People with aphasia need communication ramps to access conversations but very few people in society appreciate that. Aphasia is a hidden disability and very few people have ever heard of it. Please help me to raise money for Say Aphasia and help them to raise awareness and support people with aphasia.

About the campaign

Improving the awareness of Aphasia - Raising money for SAY APHASIA Charity. We support people with aphasia to enable them to re-connect with life. 350,000 people in UK have aphasia!

About the charity

Aphasia is always due to injury to the brain, and most commonly from a stroke. The difficulties of people with aphasia can range from occasional trouble finding words to losing the ability to speak, read, or write. Aphasia affects a person's language, but it doesn't affect a person's intelligence.
