Story
OK, so I thought running the London Marathon (April 25, 2010) this year was a great idea back in the summer!! Now it's minus 2 degrees on a cold January evening and I'm about to start my training - 'proper' - wrapped in a scarf and wearing gloves just about to leave work and run home, yes you heard right...a 6 mile run home, and not a detour via the Mayfair bar with the rest of my colleagues!! So, have you heard enough to make you feel sorry for me yet, to dig deep, and support Centrepoint, the amazing charity I am running for this year?
Thank you so much for your support and kind donation!
So a little bit about Centrepoint
Centrepoint work with thousands of vulnerable and homeless young people every year. Homlessness is not simply just about housing and having a roof over your head; it's about being without a home - a place that is safe, secure and affordable to live in.
For 40 years Centrepoint has been working to tackle and prevent youth homlessness - every night providing safe places to stay for over 850 homlessness young people in its hostels, foyers, and supported flats, without this they would be faced with insecure dangerous accomodation or the terrifying experience of sleeping rough. Centrepoint's commitment to young people goes beyond bricks and mortar - they work with young people to address their personal, social, health, and learning needs - helping them take a positive step towards an independent future.
