UWC Atlantic is a unique and inspiring school where I work in South Wales. It is a college for young people aged 16-19, and forms part of a group of 17 international UWC schools and colleges spanning Europe, North and Central America, Asia and Africa.
The college works hard to offer scholarships to students from some of the most disadvantaged areas of the world and fundraises to offer an education that would otherwise not be available to these young people.
To date, students have been supported from some of the most poverty stricken and war-torn regions in the world, including refugee camps in Syria and Lebanon and indeed also from some of the UK’s most deprived areas.
I have seen first-hand how the college can totally transform young people’s lives and give them opportunities that they would never have imagined possible.
