100k Challenge - Yorkshire 2016 · 18 June 2016 to 19 June 2016 ·

We believe every blind veteran should be able to lead the life they choose. At Blind Veterans UK we’re one, transformational team. We provide rehabilitation, training, practical advice and emotional support. Together we can help rebuild lives.

Story

We  walked 100km over the rugged Yorkshire Dales on 18th and 19th June guiding Rifleman Paul Jacobs GM who was blinded whilst on operations in Afghanistan. As a combined team, we aim to raise £10,000 for essential specialist rehabilitation equipment for our charity, Blind Veterans UK, which helps ex servicemen and women from across the UK, like Paul, who have suffered severe sight loss.

Paul was helped by the charity to regain independence and now wishes to go on and help others. He is a fantastic inspiration to so many, you may have seen him learning to sing with Gareth Malone and the Invictus Choir recently on TV at the Invictus Games.

He now knows that 'you don't need to have sight to have vision" and we would be delighted for any donation , however small

It was a challenge for us all but we did it, Paul is so proud!
