I am taking part in Kennedys Atlas Mountain Trek in October 2013.  Together with 34 colleagues, we will be trekking Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa, standing at 4,167m to raise money for War Child. 

Better known for dabbling in a bit of running and sometimes triathlon, this will be a new challenge for me.  I started out struggling to climb the stairs up to the office without being out of breath (2 flights!!), but since setting up this page I've started training, including dragging myself up Scafell Pike and Ben Nevis...! 

War Child is Kennedys nominated charity this year.  They do great work to help thousands of children affected by war.  My fundraising target is £2,000 which will be hard work, so I am busy trying to think up ways to raise money...  For starters, I have signed up for a few 'interim' challenges and hope that committing to these, as well as the trek itself, will help to persuade you to dig deep and donate to this fantastic and worthy charity.

So here are my fundraising events to date:

26 May 2013 - Manchester 10k as part of Kennedys Manchester office team who are also raising money for War Child.  Completed!

28 July 2013 - Hatfield Sprint Triathlon: 750m swim, 24k bike, 5km run. Completed! 10th lady of 32.  

18 Aug 2013 - Salford Triathlon: 1.5k swim, 40k bike, 10k run. Completed! 20th lady of 87. 

15 Sept 2013 - Great North Run - Newcastle's iconic half marathon race. Completed! not a bad time either!

I hope that after this lot, and some weekends practicing my hill climbing, that I'll be ready for Toubkal.
