My challenges for 2017, so far, are:
Why am I doing this and why Aspire?
For the last four years, my husband and I have been trying for a family. Unfortunately, I have had 5 miscarriages and we have now decided to explore other options.
With this experience, you may wonder why I am not fundraising for miscarriage prevention. My personal feeling is to focus on helping the living make the best of their lives rather than to have more children. I am fundraising for Aspire. ASPIRE provide practical help to people who have been paralysed by Spinal Cord Injury.
Every 8 hours someone is paralysed through spinal cord injury. That's 3 people a day, 21 a week or over 1,000 people a year.
ASPIRE exists because there is currently no cure for spinal cord injury.
Through its projects and programmes, Aspire offers practical support to the 40,000 people living with a spinal cord injury in the UK so that they can lead fulfilled and independent lives in their homes, with their families, in work places and in leisure time.
Please help me reach my target to help ASPIRE help those 40,000 people.
Let's make it a chain of help from you and me to ASPIRE to people living with spinal cord injury; join the chain and make a difference.
