Story
Just over a week ago, I completed my first ever half marathon. Over 3.5 months of training, on the day, I had an injured knee, was wet from head to toe, and freezing cold that I couldn't feel my hands. But I managed to cross the finishing line in 2 hours and 44 minutes.
Was it difficult? Very!
Was it worth it? Every minute of it.
Would I do it again? Without a doubt.
This is why, I will be running my next half marathon on Oct 2nd in Cardiff this year. But this time for a good cause. Cardiff University have been kind enough to give me a space at the Marathon in turn for raising £100 to a charity of my choice and I couldn't think of a better cause than Cancer Research UK.
Cancer remains a major global health challenge. Every year 2.5 million people in the UK are diagnosed with cancer. One in three people in the UK will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime and one in four people will die of cancer. And I am pretty sure everyone of us knows someone who has been affected by cancer so dig deep and give generously, as
your donations will help develop new cancer therapies which will make a real difference to the lives of patients.
Thank you! :D
