Jack and Emily's cycle challenge · 15 February 2015

Encephalitis International is the only non-profit of any size anywhere in the world providing direct support and information to people affected by encephalitis (brain inflammation), raising awareness, and furthering our understanding of the condition through research.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My children, Jack (9) and Emily (7), will join their Grandad, Roy Parker, in a 10 mile cycle challenge around the Lee on Solent and Gosport peninsula on Sunday 15 February to raise money for the Encephalitis Society. The charity was a huge support to us when my Dad was diagnosed with Encephilitis in June 2013 and so we want to give something back.  Encephilitis is inflammation of the brain. This can be caused by an infection invading the brain or if the immune system attacks the brain in error. This challenge also gives us an opportunity to raise awareness of the condition because if it is not treated within 48 hours, it can be fatal. Please take just five minutes out of your busy day and visit www.encephalitis.info - it could help to save a life. Thank you!
