Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Although I'm not exactly what you would call a natural athlete, six months ago, I decided that, after running a grand total of 5k, it would be a brilliant idea to sign up for a half marathon.  In 4 days time, I will actually be doing this and I have to admit, I am starting to regret this decision!

The last few months have been a painful and, at times, deeply unpleasant process of trying to co-ordinate my ridiculously long arms and big feet into something that resembles running, whilst battling the Great British weather.

So, I've decided that something good should come from all this effort which is why I've asked you lovely people to visit this page.  It was an easy choice picking a charity to run for as, having an hereditary kidney disease in my family, this is something that I've seen first hand and it's not pleasant.  Unfortunately, there are several members of my family who are affected by polycystic kidney disease and Kidney Research UK are working hard to try and find new ways to fight this disease. Currently, the only solution is a kidney transplant. Hopefully, any money raised will go towards finding a cure and keeping my healthy kidneys safe from my organ grabbing relatives!
