Story
Hi, thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As some of you may know, I recently lost a Step-Dad to a heart attack. He was only 65. My Dad also has a cardiac condition (he has a pacemaker fitted as part of his treatment for Cardiomyopathy).
When I lost Mum to cancer I ran the 1998 London marathon raising £3500 for cancer research. Graham, (my step dad) was there cheering me on so I wanted to do something for him and also to recognise the work the BHF does for my Dad and others like him.
I was recently surprised to win a place on the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey100 and it all came together. I'm not a cyclist and have only just got back into running (or any semblence of "shape"), having completed in a couple of 10k's. This is going to be tough (it's four marathons - ok on a bike but still!!!) With only 6 weeks to go I need to learn to ride with clip in shoes and generally get fit!
I don't expect to raise the same as the marathon but every little helps, so please spare a little if you can.

On Sunday morning I completed the 60 mile London – Brighton Bike ride on the racing bike in about 5 hours (4 of it riding). The racing bike is much easier and faster than a mountain bike, except for the hills (average speed was 16.4mph). It was a lovely 17 degrees centigrade – perfect for cycling. Our start was delayed until 1am and we were on the beach by 6am had no sleep at all!

A massive thank you to all who have contributed. £10 per mile kept me going up Leith Hill which was brutal (I actually quite enjoyed Box Hill)!
