I am taking part in the Chester marathon 2019 in memory of my godmother, Susan Spillane, who we sadly lost in February 2019. This was Sue's second diagnosis of cancer, having been in remission for many years. Sue was an inspiration, truly brave and determined to enjoy the time she had with family and friends.

I am supporting Liverpool Sunflowers charity as they provide a unique support service to individuals affected by cancer and their families, through a variety of groups including counselling, complementary therapies, art and craft therapies, exercise classes and more. This is a small local charity and donations are hugely appreciated.

I have been running for a few years now, starting off around 2015 unable to run for even five minutes. This is my first marathon, having previously completed no more than 16 miles, and I am excited but nervous about the challenge ahead.
