Mental health is something that affects us all in one way or another. 

My daughter, who is 11, fights a daily battle with her own mental health. Every day, she shows me what strength and resilience mean, when she gets on with her life to the best of her ability, despite suffering with acute anxiety and often feeling like she is the only one in the world feeling the way she does. 

So when I asked her who she thought I should fundraise for, she didn't hesitate when she suggested Havering Mind, because they "help people like me live their lives". 

I have been given a once in a lifetime opportunity to run the NYC Marathon and I will do it knowing that we are helping to make a difference for such an amazing charity who continue to face funding cuts, despite the need for their services being greater than ever before.
