At the start of this year at the active age of 34 I was given the devastating news that I had metastatic breast cancer. Our whole willed came crashing down around us. Myself, mybpartner and my two beautiful young children were sent into turmoil and faced our biggest challenge yet. Chemo and maintenance drugs did their job and we had an amazing 8 months. Sadly in October we discovered it was starting to regrow and had also progressed to my brain. After 10 bouts of radiotherapy my hair has since fallen out again and I’m exhausted. BUT this will not beat me! 

So losing my hair again felt slightly more upsetting this time perhaps because it’s colder and because it’s completely gone! But I always like to find the positives in a negative situation these days. Inspired from an old work colleague who always wore a different Christmas jumper each day in December I have decided to try and do my own hat advent! My idea is to wear a different festive hat everyday in december and hopefully raise some money as a result! I will be donating £25 myself to count for each day in December and as an alternative advent calendar!

Our two beautiful girls are the most important things to us and their happiness and normality has been paramount to us throughout this year. The Osborne Trust gave my children such joy at receiving their own Ozzy elephants and having time to go out with their Daddy allowing me to rest and I know that Emma (the founder of The Osborne Trust) works tirelessly and selflessly to make many children’s and parents lives brighter at such difficult times which is invaluable.
