As you can see I am signed up to complete my first ever Marathon in May this year! This is my biggest running challenge to date and something that I would never have previously thought I would ever do. After joining Hartlepool RunFit last January my running and confidence has improved so much that I wanted to prove to myself, more than anyone, that if you put your mind to something you can achieve it.

After securing my place in the race I have decided to run for a local charity Ambers Law, which operates under the banner of Hope 4 Kids, as it was set up by a friends partner after he very sadly lost his Daughter to cervical cancer. This eventually spread to her lungs and throat, and she died aged just 25. Although Amber went to the Doctors repeatedly she was refused a smear mostly due to the fact that she was only 22 years old. This charity is now campaigning for a change in the law so that any girl experiencing symptoms of Cervical Cancer should be eligible on the NHS to be screened regardless of their age. They also work to highlight how important smear tests are for all of us ladies over the age of 25yrs old as over 1 million women miss appointments every year!

Any donation, no matter how big or small, would be greatly appreciated to help this charity highlight such an important cause and to hopefully prevent more women and families going through what Amber and her family endured.
