Story
I last ran the London Marathon in 1999 boldly stating I have done that twice now and don’t need to do it again! However here I am, 12 years older and supposedly wiser, planning to take the challenge on again. I am really excited about running the London Marathon this year for a number of reasons; primarily I have committed to raise £2000 for the Leukaemia and Intensive Chemotherapy Fund (LINC) which is an important local healthcare charity that works to improve the care of cancer patients in Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and South Worcestershire. LINC provides financial and psychological support for local people who are receiving intensive chemotherapy, as well as funding much needed equipment and building projects. I am excited to be supporting such an important local charity, which has helped so many local individuals and families. I am a keen supporter of LINC and as a local business owner I am passionate about our local community and supporting a local charity is important to me.
Another reason to run the London Marathon this year is that it is the closest I will ever come to winning a London 2012 medal!
I really do need the support of my family, friends and the local community to achieve my goal and so I thank you very much for your kind donation and sponsorship.
Hopefully I will achieve my target of raising £2000, have a great day on 22 April where the months of training through the British winter will be worth it……..and to run the London Marathon; the best race, in the best city in the world!
Many thanks for your support.
