Story
So a fair few months ago now, a friend of mine messaged me asking if I fancied running the London Triathlon with him in the summer. Being a foolish individual I accepted without really knowing the ordeal I’d signed up for. Andy unfortunately can no longer take part due to work commitments so I'm stuck with the challenge by myself!
Now there's only a few months until the big day and the challenge has definately hit home! I have to swim 1.5km, then cycle 40km and then finish it all off with a 10 km run, ouch.
However I have been training hard and now I'm feeling a little more confident that I may actually complete the thing without drowning or having a heart attack. I decided that running for a charity would make the whole experience more worthwhile than just a personal challenge, so I’ve decided to run for ActionAid.
They are a fantastic charity who works directly with millions of poor people in Africa, Asia and the Americas. They help secure their basic rights to healthcare, clean water, food, education and security.
Your support can help make a huge difference to the lives of the poorest people around the world. Just £10 could provide mosquito nets for a family of five in flood prone Vietnam. My fundraising target is to try to raise 750 pounds. This money could help fund a school garden for a year, providing a lasting food source for pupils in Malawi.
