Sarah and Shaunna run Brighton marathon

Brighton Marathon 2018 · 15 April 2018 ·
Sarah and Shaunna are running the Brighton Marathon (yes all 26.2 miles of it!!) to raise money for the Lymphoma Association.
Having trained together at various fitness classes and endured several ‘fun’ sporting events together, we had a complete moment of madness and decided 2018 would be our year to run a marathon. Neither of us are natural runners and neither of us have ever run a marathon before! We secured our places in the race using the general ballot entry system, but whilst out on one of our long January training runs together we decided we’d also like to use the event to help raise some money for a good cause.
So why the Lymphoma Association?
They are the only charity in the UK dedicated to supporting people affected by lymphoma.
Every 28 minutes someone is diagnosed with Lymphatic cancer, and most of these people have never heard of the disease.
Sadly in February 2017 Sarah’s grandad (Nonno) lost his short fight to Mantle cell lymphoma. More recently, Shaunna’s dad, Colin, was also diagnosed with lymphoma and is currently undergoing intensive chemotherapy treatment as part of a clinical trial at University College London Hospital.
The Lymphoma Association helps to provide patients and their families with the best possible information, support, treatment and care. They also help to keep Lymphoma at the top of the medical agenda, ensuring ground-breaking clinical trials like Colin’s continue to be made available. For obvious reasons, it is a charity very close to both of our hearts.
We’d love it if you could help make our marathon efforts worth every drop of blood, sweat and tears by donating to the Lymphoma Association. Any amount is gratefully received – there is no contribution too small (or big!!)
We will be eternally grateful for you to support our ambition to complete the marathon in one piece but also to support a charity so very close to both our families hearts.
With many thanks and lots of love
Sarah & Shaunna
