Story

Do you ever experience moments when your mouth goes into action before your brain kicks in? About a month ago I had one such moment, in a meeting, (minuted!) I blurted out: 'Ah Sheffield 10K on the morning of our 125th anniversary celebrations - why dont we enter a team? I'll run it!'

To put this hairbrained moment into context I'm the wrong side of both 50 years old and 11 stone in weight and I rarely have a spare moment! On the positive side I did learn to run (without my lungs exploding) in my late forties when I had a bash at the couch to 5k craze. In my entire life I've run 5km approximately five times, very slowly!

I wonder if there are any other mad fools out there who would love to raise some funds for the kitties and join me in my hare-brained adventure? Anyone else fancy running?

Wearing kitty ears and a fluffy tail (or even our Travis mascot costume) is optional, but encouraged!

Please help me raise £1250 for the Shelter in our 125th Anniversary year.  I'd love to think our amazing charity, that I'm so proud to be a part of, can continue to care for Sheffield Cats for another 125 years and beyond!

About the charity

The Sheffield Cats Shelter is a small, local charity which has helped to rehome cats and kittens since 1897. We never put a healthy cat to sleep. We receive no lottery or state aid and are solely funded through the generous contributions of our supporters, voluntary donations and legacies.
