London Marathon 2023 · 23 April 2023 ·
Thank you for taking time to visit my JustGiving page.
For my sins, I have decided to attempt the London Marathon and will be running for the NSPCC.
Why the NSPCC? For me, the NSPCC is one of the most important charities in the UK, and their Childline service plays a hugely important role in changing the lives of countless young people living in difficult circumstances. It is a charity that I have supported for a number of years and it's something that I believe in deeply - particularly given that some of those closest to me have benefited from their services.
Abuse robs children of their childhood and without help, the scars of abuse can last a lifetime. So I run for those children who have been, or continue to be subjected to the most horrific abuse.
Please donate as little or as much as you can to support this charity...and also to motivate me on those long and lonely runs! Every penny counts so please don't underestimate your ability to make a difference.
Your donation can help in so many ways, for example:
£3 could pay for the Speak out Stay safe programme to reach one primary school child, giving them the knowledge to protect themselves from abuse.
£8 could pay for Buddy posters for 200 classrooms to help children remember the messages they've learned at school.
£20 could answer 5 calls to Childline every month from children when they have nowhere else to turn.
£25 could pay for four schools to have Buddy kits, so children can
take-home an activity booklet to remind them how to stay 'happy and safe' and who they can talk to if they have any worries or problems.
I pledge to give it my all on the day in appreciation of both NSPCC's incredible work and your donations.
Abuse changes childhood, but so can we.....every childhood is worth fighting for xxx
