Sarina's Three Peaks Challenge

Student Challenges Three Peaks Challenge 2020 · 16 June 2020 to 7 July 2020 ·
Thanks for visiting my page! I promise the two minutes you'll spend reading this will be worth it.
Next summer, I will be attempting to climb the three highest peaks in the UK: Scafell Pike, Snowdonia and Ben Nevis. This will be my first ever trek and I have chosen to raise money for the Meningitis Research Foundation; a charity which aims to research and raise awareness of two serious diseases, Meningitis and Septicaemia.
Meningitis Research Foundation's work is providing better access to vaccines, health systems that can diagnose and treat children, and support to survivors of meningitis. Currently, so many people are unaware of the different types of meningitis and it's detrimental effects on people of any age- the most at risk being children and young adults. Shockingly, meningitis and neonatal sepsis are the second biggest infectious killer of children under the age of five on the planet, affecting more than 2.8 million people every year! They can kill you within 12 hours and are responsible for more deaths of children under 5 than malaria, measles, tetanus and AIDS combined.
This challenge will be two-fold: one, raising money for MRF to contribute towards their vision of defeating meningitis by 2030 but also two, improving my physical fitness enough to take on three mountains in 36 hours (this one is definitely a challenge!)
I'm super excited to be taking part- please donate and help me reach my goal! Together, lets take a step forward in making meningitis a global health priority. As little as £1 (less than a cup of coffee) can go a long way.
Thank you in advance for your generosity- your support is very much appreciated :)
