The Conservatoire · 21 December 2012

The Conservatoire was founded in 1881 to put art and music at the heart of the community. We offer classes in music, art and drama as well as concerts, exhibitions and events. We are a social enterprise and also house a nursery, a cafe and provide bursaries for local children for arts education

Story

For the past 132 years the Conservatoire has fostered quality art and music in this community. That mission has run like a thread through generations of local residents, connecting and enriching hundreds of thousands of people.

Now, the Conservatoire is under threat. If we can’t raise £175,000 by the end of February, we face closure in August. A £75,000 Challenge Donor Fund has been generously pledged by a group of local donors. To claim it, we must match those funds through donations from supporters like you.

Art and music matter. Please help to keep them at the centre of our community by donating, attending one of our benefits or participating in one of our pop-up fundraisers. Together we will not only save the Conservatoire from closing, but will transform and reinvigorate it for a 21st Century community.
