Story
I would like to help Al Isharah in meeting their fundraising target and need your support! Al Isharah does some amazing work with the Muslim Deaf Community, helping them learn about their religion and apply what they learn to their every day lives.Al Isharah has various educational programmes and initiatives being run for the Deaf community in British Sign Language (BSL). One of their biggest projects is translating the Qur'an in BSL. This is a huge task and a rewarding one too.
The word ishara means sign.
"He shows you His signs. So which of the signs of Allah do you deny?" Sūrat Ghāfir, No.40, Āyat 81
Let's not deny the need of our deaf brothers and sisters to be able to access the Quran in a way that is enriching to their hearts and souls.
How many of us take for granted our ability to openly communicate. An even then many of us loose the essence of what is meant in translation. Maybe it's because we don't embody the meaning of our words through our body language and actions as we should, to truly bring to life what we have to say.
The best of creation sets the perfect example for this. When the Prophet (peace be upon him) would speak with someone he would turn his whole body towards them an give them his undivided attention.
Let us learn from our blessed community of deaf Muslim brothers and sisters who really are the epitomy of what it truely means to embody what they communicate. When we live in a time where we have forgotten how to be generous with our words to others, they bring to life the beauty of meaning through their silent expression.
Please help us raise funds for this noble project this Ramadan. As little or as much as you can give. May it weigh heavy on the scales for all of us on the last day inshaaAllah. Allah swt bless you all.
