In Loving Memory Of Savvas Petrou Demetriou

Born in Karavas, Cyprus, in 1943, Savvas Petrou Demetriou, son of Petros "Churchill" and Theodora "Theotou" Demetriou; came to London in 1965 to study Law. He met his beloved wife, Diamanto (Mandy) and married in 1972. They had three sons, Peter, Nicholas and Theodoros.
Savvas was a very hard-working, compassionate, caring and selfless man. He helped many people and supported good causes; he was a philanthropist. He spent a large part of his life caring for vulnerable people and always looked after the weak, the frail and the disadvantaged in his community. After many years working as a care assistant, his dream to open his own care home finally came true in 2009. He opened Greenfields Residential Care Home where he worked tirelessly until his last days. He touched everybody that crossed his path with his warmth, his glow, his kindness, his sense of humour and infectious smile. Savvas had the gift to connect with people from all walks of life, from presidents, actors, politicians and artists to children, vulnerable people and the elderly and was able to treat everyone equally no matter their status, race or religion. He had the ability to talk to anyone under any circumstances and make them feel warm inside.
He will never be forgotten as he was loved by so many. His legacy and spirit will live on through his children and grandchildren. May his beautiful soul lie in peaceful rest forever. Each and every person who knew him will remember him for the truly great man he was.
RIP Dad
