Story

After good friends Annie and Vicky both lost their mum and dad respectively, they wanted to repay the support they received from the hospice staff so started fundraising.   The first on their list was 26.2 miles walking from Ardrossan – Largs as part of the Kiltwalk and their friends Melissa and Claire also joined the team.   Melissa’s Nonno (papa) who is 101 years young wanted to support the girls in their fundraising efforts and thought why not walk the last mile with them.   One mile being significant as he is one year over a hundred and one year past the Covid crisis.   He is aware of the amazing support Vicky and Annie along with their families received from the Ayrshire Hospice along with many other friends and family he knows.    To encourage him along Agent H (the Hospice mascot) came to see this Ayrshire Kiltwalk Hero to walk with him, with friends and family there at the finish line to cheer him across and after the final mile he wanted to walk some more.  He is in training for next year already.    Thank you, Vicky, Annie, Melissa, Claire & Ugo xx
