Story
It will be a year this Sunday, 28th March that I was able to take off my neck brace from breaking my neck and back, after an accident on holiday in December 2019. I had to have 3 operations where they replaced C6 & C7 in my back with metal cages and then I had plates put into T1 on my neck. I was extremely lucky and very grateful to all the doctors and nurses who looked after me in Martinique. We finally returned home on January 5th 2020, where I started my recovery. I was in my brace for around 4 months and it took a lot of mental strength to get me through.
It's not been easy building my strength and fitness back up but I am grateful that I have since made a full recovery. To show how far I've come, I'm planning on challenging myself by running an ultramarathon on Sunday 28th March with my mate Roy, a keen and slightly mad runner and to also raise money for Mental Health Matters Wales.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and any donation is greatly appreciated.
