6 weeks ago on a bit of a whim I decided to try and get a place in the London Marathon. Fortunately I was lucky enough to be a given a place by the British Forces Foundation, who I am honoured to run for. Unfortunately my limited amount of time to train was restricted by a couple of weeks of a cold. So this really will be a bit of a challenge. Our Armed Forces serve with immense professionalism in the most challenging environments across the world. Working under pressure for months at a time, thousands of miles from home and often witnessing traumatic events, places a unique strain on individuals that can ultimately affect both them and their loved ones, for years. Maintaining the morale of our serving personnel is vital to the welfare and effectiveness of the men and women who depend on each other every day.
