Firewalk · 25 November 2011
At the beginning of 2011 I decided as a New Years resolution it was about time that I did something for charity and actually gave something back to the world. My initial play to run some sort of 1/2 marathon / 10k styled event..........
Unfortunately this never materialised due to me firstly never getting round to doing any sort of serious training or ever actually buying a pair of running shoes!
So with the year coming to an end, the opportunity to support my works Sponsered Charity for 2011 and raise some money for a worthy cause came along which would not involve any running, infact only walking, I jumped at the chance. The down side is that the walking is over red hot embers!
The event basically entails walking across a 20 foot long bed of wood embers burning at 1236 degrees Fahrenheit. (Sounds great!!)
Anyway if you are able and willing to make some form of donation through my 'Just Giving' Page to a very worth while charity that would be very much appreciated.
I will be supporting my works Charity of Year - Yorkhill Children's Foundation. The team at Yorkhill Children's Foundation provide a wonderful service to sick kids and their families around Glasgow and the surrounding area and cannot function without the help of volunteers and donations.
