The Christie charity provides enhanced services over and above what the NHS funds. Your support can help us to fund life-changing and potentially life-saving projects that will benefit cancer patients both now and in the future.

Story

Myself and my sister are running the London Marathon on 26th April, and then I will also be running the Edinburgh Marathon on 31st May 2015.

Neither of us have ever run a marathon before but feel indebted to the Christie hospital for the care they provided to our late father, Jimmy McKie who died on the 5th October 2014 after the most dignified fight against cancer.

If you didn't know our Dad then let us try to summarise....

He was the most untidy person in the world (and we miss this). The most disorganised (and we liked this in retrospect). He was quirky and very funny (but only if you understood his humour, which many people didn't). He was a juvenile until the day he died (which we loved). He died age 74 (far far too young with so much more life to live and golf to play), but looked at the world with the wonderment of a child (which we should all try to emulate). Without doubt the most wonderful father, grandfather, brother and husband. He formed the epicentre of our hearts and will be forever missed.

Please donate generously to help motivate Jen and myself over the coming months of training, and maybe somebody somewhere may be cured of this brutal disease.

We will honour your sponsorship by giving 100% effort, or 110% as our Dad would have said.
