Sheep Tick Appeal · 23 February 2016

We aim for a thriving countryside rich in game and other wildlife and want to reverse the decline in wildlife populations before it's too late. Join our wildlife revival so that our team of dedicated scientists can continue their vital conservation work.

Story

We are asking for support in covering startup and ongoing costs for our new Scottish Demonstration Farm.

A demonstration farm in Scotland has been a GWCT objective for 10 years. Demonstration is at the heart of the GWCT’s Allerton Project at Loddington in Leicestershire and over 20 years this has become a showpiece for our farmland research.

With a flock of 1,400 ewes to look after we need to raise £5,000 to cover the cost of providing tick treatment for 12 months.

About the farm

Auchnerran Farm occupies 1,030 acres (417 ha) of hill-edge land near Logie Coldstone on Deeside in Aberdeenshire and is located on the edge of a bowl-shaped geographical feature known as the Howe of Cromar.
