Scottish Living Wage Campaign · 2 August 2013

The Poverty Alliance is a network of organisations and individuals working across Scotland. We campaign for practical changes that will increase incomes, improve services, give people in poverty a voice in decisions that affect them and challenge negative attitudes to poverty.

Story

The Scottish Living Wage Campaign is a coalition of trade unions, anti-poverty campaigners, voluntary organisations, and faith based groups with the over arching aim of increasing support for the Living Wage in Scotland.

Since our formation in 2007:

  • We have established a strong, broad based Steering Group for the campaign in Scotland.
  • Secured cross party political support for the Living Wage in Scotland.
  • Successfully campaigned for NHS Scotland & Local Authorities to pay the Living Wage.
  • Established the Living Wage Accreditation Initiative in Scotland, which now has Accredited more than 400 employers and given over 4000 members of staff a pay rise.
  • Ensured the Living Wage is key part of Scottish procurement legislation.
  • Supported the development of a range of local Living Wage campaigns across Scotland.
  • Delivered workshops to over 300 young people on low pay, in-work poverty, and the Living Wage.

Your donation will help us to continue our campaign and build even more support for the Living Wage in Scotland.
