Tough Mudder Yorkshire · 2 August 2014 to 3 August 2014 ·

We provide free and confidential support to people experiencing issues with drugs, alcohol or mental health. We work with people on their own goals, whether that’s staying safe and healthy, making small changes or stopping an unwanted habit altogether. (formerly known as Addaction)

Story

Hullo,, on the 3rd August 2014, I will be proud to be part of a team of eight "mudders" named Jowsey's Giants trying to take on what is known by many as the Toughest Event on the Planet - Tough Mudder.     As a team we are hoping to raise £4000.00

Jowsey's Giants:

(1) John Ross - Former Kick Boxing Champion & BodyBuilder.... (ahem?)

(2) Sean Austin - Fitness expert & American Football Star

(3) Chris Jowsey - Trading Director SP&B's

(4) Andy Braithwaite - Head of First Point, Heineken UK

(5) Paul Daly - Retail Marketing Manager - SP&B's

(6) Simon Thomas - Lessee Support Manager - SP&B's

(7) Chris Tulloch - Managing Director - Weston Castle

(8) David Pritchard - Ops & Sales Director - SP&B's

The Tough Mudder challenge is a 13 mile run with16 terrifying obstacles designed to test every fear known to man. Our aim is to raise £4000 and finish alive. Our pledge to you - just like addaction - is that we will never give up. Electric shocks, ice cold river crossings, fire jumping, the mud mile & 40 metre under water tunnels, we'll overcome them all - even the infamous final obstacle "Everest".

Every pound you donate will spur us on and carry us over the finish line, but more importantly it will go to help addaction change lives, hopefully forever.

A big THANK YOU for your support - SEAN

a bit about ADDACTION:

If you have a problem with drugs or alcohol, Addaction is here to help.

Addaction is the UK's leading drug and alcohol charity. Every year, we help over 40,000 people in England and Scotland to recover from their problems. With our help, they rebuild relationships and go on to live fulfilling and meaningful lives.

    How we support adults

    How we support young people

    How we support families

We have been at the forefront of treatment in the UK for over 45 years. More than anyone, we understand how difficult it can be to recover from a drug or alcohol problem. We know it's about more than tackling the addiction itself and that each person's path to recovery is different.

That's why we work with you at your own pace - helping you to understand and address any issues you may be facing - and why we design a package of care just for you, drawing on our own expertise and working with other organisations when and where we need to (around issues such as housing, employment or education). We also know that your family and loved ones may need support, too.

We are proud to say that the support we provide is the best available, and is free for you to use. We're always looking for ways to better what we offer to you - and our culture of continual improvement means that you can rely on Addaction to provide the support that you deserve.

Our aim is simple - we will not rest until every person with a drug or alcohol problem has access to support that enables them to change their lives and unlock their full potential.
