Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As you may or not be aware I am the heaviest of all the team weighing twice the weight of Ian Vicary so just imagine carrying him on your back and doing the three peaks on the 7th July. I will be dragging my battered temple of a body(who has not seen a temple in a state of ruin) up and down the three highest peaks of England, Scotland and Wales.
Yes I have taken the criticism, the mockery and laughter but it has not stopped me joining the dirty dozen (Mass tells me two have died we are now down to ten). An elite team of carefully selected drinkers who will be putting their bodies on the line climbing up and down Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowden through day and night and what ever the earth decides to throw at us within 24 hours in order to raise funds for the club we all love so much its time to give something back,so back the heaviest!
Why are we doing this? Mass told me it was easy a stroll in the park! It wasn't till I read "They eventually followed using our steps and met us on the summit not before our staff intervened as they decided to walk on top of the collapsed/slumped cornices that were adorning the North Face of Ben Nevis and we abruptly told them that if they wanted to live a little longer then they should move well away from the edge before it collapsed and killed someone. When their instructor was quizzed about this they stated that they had never been on Ben Nevis before and didn't realise the potential danger with cornices?"
Now I know the truth I am afraid its to late to pull out!
I have gone into deep training and lost two stone in two weeks my doctor has said he did not think it possible you could lose weight from sweating fear, but its from sweating blood I am down to 21 stone and the nightmares. So come on get behind us every little helps. If you don't back me back Mass as hes the second fattest then Dylan.
The Didsbury Playing Fields Association is a charity and home to a number of local amateur sporting clubs in Didsbury which in turn provides facilities currently utilised by hundreds of children and adults. The playing fields and clubhouse form an integral part of the local community. The fields however are situated on a flood plain and the Environmental Agency (EA) has decided it needs to raise the flood levels above those that the clubhouse was built to withstand. Whilst the EA has made a financial contribution, which the charity has managed to obtain matched grantsfrom various sporting associations against, a significant sum still needs to be raised to complete the works and ensure the site provides sporting facilities to young and old for generations to come.
