Plymouth Breakwater Swim 2020 · 27 September 2020 ·

The Chestnut Appeal for Men's Health fundraises for nurses, equipment and treatment, as well as providing, awareness campaigns on prostate cancer, the most common cancer in men, right across Devon and Cornwall. We also raise awareness of testicular cancer and penile cancer in our communities.

Story

 GLS (Gnarly Lunchtime Swimmers) are...….

Sean & Dylan Walker. Joe & Vin Russo. Catherine Gill. Liz Wells. David Mozley. Beatrix Teasdale.

We are a Pod of swimmers and friends who meet locally at Tinside on Plymouth seafront. There is a good sense of community in this area. David Squires puts so much into this sport by organizing annual swim events where participants can challenge themselves in a supported  environment. This is amazing chance to test yourself and raise money for such a worthwhile cause.

My son Dylan's grandfather and uncle died of prostate cancer. He is going to swim this event for the first time and has been training hard.

Catherine, Liz, David, Joe and myself (Sean) have swam these challenges before, however for Vin, Dylan and Bea it will be their first time swimming in an event. They have been training well and are confident they will complete it.

Thank you so much for visiting our page, in the current climate we know that resources are tight however any little helps.

You guys are awesome.
