Mencap wants a world where people with a learning disability gain an equal right to choice opportunity and respect. We believe that support for the families and carers of people with a learning disability is vital to achieving our vision

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

For the past 2 years I've been working for Mencap. Before starting my post with Mencap I didn't really have any awareness of learning disabilities or of how much it can impact on peoples lives.

Over the past few years I've met so many amazing people and get inspiration on a daily basis from their strength, the happiness and their overall outlook on life. They don't want people to feel sorry or take people on them, they just want you to be aware that they might be a wee bit different but like the rest of us they just want to have fun and enjoy life.

I'm taking on the Belfast Marathon to try and raise some money to support the fantastic work that Mencap do. If you can spare a few quid to help out I'd really appreciate it.
