At the beginning of this year I signed up for a swim down a river to raise some money for a fantastic charity. I later found out (when I told my family) this swim would take me between 3-4 hours in open water doing non-stop front crawl. Oops. Needless to say this has involved a lot of training so far and I now know I can swim 5k non-stop without drowning so we're half way there! 

The main thing that has actually kept me going is the thought that the money raised with your help will in turn help a young person with a disability to learn to swim. For so many children with a physical disability this can mean the opportunity to move independently in the water which they can't do on land. It also creates an opportunity to do some cardiovascular fitness which is so important for their health and well being which can be so hard if you find it hard to move. I have referred some of the children on my caseload to level water in London and the response and feedback I have heard has been so positive. The opportunity to help this continue in any way is worth putting myself through this for and I hope you will agree and help me on my way.
