Story
My good neighbour Henry died of cancer last year. He is greatly missed - the backgreen, which he tended beautifully every day, isn't the same without him sitting there soaking up some rays, listening to his radio. It was sad to see him deteriorate, but the fact that he was nursed at home meant that on better days he was able to pop out to his favourite seat in the sun, chat with us neighbours, and enjoy the backgreen & it's abundant flowers a little longer. If he was in hospital this would not have been possible.
I feel that quality of life is very important, and this becomes more pressing when our time left alive is limited. I think everyone should have the choice to stay at home if they wish, rather than going into hospital to be nursed, and for this reason i would like you to help me to raise money for this purpose.
Please help Marie Curie Nurses care for more terminally ill people and their families. Cancer rates have now risen from one in three to one in every two people.
I'm taking part in Walk Ten 2013 at Dalkeith Country Estate to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care. The walk finishes at the time many Marie Curie Nurses start their nightshift in people's homes.
Please sponsor me and help Marie Curie Nurses provide free care to more people with terminal cancer and other illnesses in their own homes or in one of their hospices across the UK.
£20 provides 1 hour of Marie Curie nursing care, but whatever you can give will help terminally ill people and their families when they need it most.
Thank you for your support.
