We fund innovative and creative events to improve mental wellbeing for all

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I do hope you are able to generously sponsor me - every penny you give will help Mental Fight Club to use creativity and connection to enhance the wellbeing and resilience of all - both healthcare professionals as well as those that use these services.

The Dragon Café is the flagship project of Mental Fight Club. As such, it aims to be an open, welcoming group which puts on exciting, well-organised and inspirational creative events and programmes as well as simply being a place to be. It is a highly effective antidote to the loneliness and isolation which is so often prevalent in those who have been affected by mental distress.

I'm walking the Portuguese Camino as quite simply I love walking & talking! I'll be starting in Lisbon, Portugal on Monday 27th August '18 and walking to Santiago de Compostela, Spain. It is possible I will arrive at my destination by the end of September '18. I'm deliberately keeping my options open so won't know the exact route in advance which makes forward planning harder but I want to keep the possibility for spontaneity alive! Whatever route I end up taking it will be over 600km of walking at least.

To follow my progress please see my blog:

I plan to write posts, publish videos and post lots of pretty pictures as often as I can so do check my blog regularly.

***UPDATE***UPDATE***UPDATE***UPDATE***UPDATE***UPDATE***UPDATE***

Thank you to all those that have sponsored me - I really appreciate your support. It really does mean a lot to me.

This message is just to update you as to my plans.

Shortly before I was due to leave for Portugal my Mum was diagnosed with cancer and it looked serious. After lots of discussion it was agreed that I would postpone my Pilgrimage to a time when Mum was in better health. I wanted to be there for Mum during this difficult time.

I'm pleased to say that my Mum's cancer is currently contained to just two places - one lump in her breast and one in a nearby lymph gland. Also the variety of cancer she has, generally responds really well to treatment so the situation is looking fairly positive.

I just didn't want to undertake a big trip when at the time my Mum's prognosis looked pretty serious.

So, all being well, I will do the adventure next year - assuming that my Mum's condition remains positive.

So thank you very much for your kind support and I'll let you know when I will go on my adventure, when I know.

Lots of love,

Seth
