Hi, thanks for visiting our page.
Jay and I reached the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro (in Tanzania) - the Roof of Africa. It was the hardest thing we have done, but an amazing experience. Your sponsorship helped spur us to the top - appreciate your donations.
Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa, and is the 4 highest in the world; at 5,895 metres or 19,341 feet above sea level.
The altitude change will result in close to a 50 degree temperature change from the base to summit.
On the final ascent night; we expect to be walking for over 18 hours to reach the summit.
We are raising money for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Juvenile the largest charitable funder of type 1 diabetes research. Since I am Diabetic, we have chosen JDRF, to help find a cure for diabetes. Relatively little is still known about the cause of this disease. At present there are no cures, multiple daily insulin injections is not a cure.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
We really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.
