We are incredibly fortunate to have all the material belongings we need, to have found such genuine love with each other, and to have the support and love of all our family and friends (you!). But importantly, we are also fortunate enough to belong to a culture/society that protects our right to choose to be together by law, keeping us free from persecution. 

In the world there are only 29 countries where a same sex couple like us could get married. Being gay is currently illegal in 71 countries - and in 11 of those, it is punishable by death. Think about that - there are more than double the number of countries where we could be imprisoned for our relationship than where we could celebrate a wedding.

We are so excited to get married on May 21st 2022. As we said in our invite - you do not have to give us any present at all, because you coming to our wedding day means more to us than any gift could, and we appreciate that attending a wedding can be expensive.
