Virgin London Marathon 2012 · 22 April 2012 ·

Able Child works toward a world in which no child with a disability is left behind. We support a network of organisations in Africa to protect, educate and amplify the voices of children and young people with disabilities, so they are able to thrive.

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page.

I am running the London Marathon in April for AbleChildAfrica, a charity that specialises exclusively in advocating for and supporting disabled children and disabled young people in Africa.

We are all lucky enough to live in a country that offers a wealth of support to the disabled members of our community but there are 50 million disabled children in Africa who do not have the same fortune as those in our society and as a result are facing early death, neglect and extreme poverty and they need our help!

AbleChildAfrica is a small charity with a big vision that believes that every disabled person can help build a better future for Africa. The charity works along side their partner organisations to carry out life changing work with disabled children and young people and uses their experiences and learning to campaign for more widespread change in attitude and practice.
