Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page created to raise money for the Macmillan Woolverstone Wish Fundraising Group.

This September I will be taking part in the non stop Thames Path Ultra Challenge walking 62 miles (100km) through day and night heading upstream from Putney Bridge past Hampton Court to Runnymede (of Magna Carta fame) and then onwards all the way to Henley.

I have been supporting the Woolverstone Wish since 2012 having been made aware of the wonderful work that they do by a friend.  This is such a fantastic charity and will benefit so many fantastically brave people.

In lieu of donning my trusty walking boots, I have already raised the total of £516.00 from a Halloween Coffee morning held in October last year and from an Easter Egg Raffle held this year but I am hoping that you will take pity on me and my madness and help me to raise even more.  Until we can totally kick cancers big fat ugly butt, we desperately need places like the new Cancer Treatment Centre at Ipswich Hospital so that the best level of care possible can be provided in the best possible surroundings.

The innovative new £4.7 million Cancer Treatment Centre at Ipswich Hospital has been built to totally transform cancer care locally and was officially opened to patients in May this year.

The total of the appeal to date is almost £2.3m.  However a further £2.5m is still needed.  It is for this reason that Macmillan, the Ipswich  Hospital and Woolverstone Wish Fundraising Group have joined forces, and it is for this reason that I am putting myself through yet another Ultra Challenge - because - to quote a well known advertisement - they are "worth it".

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
