We stand for everyone affected by dementia to find a cure

Story

Dear friends

At the ripe old ages of 52 and 51 respectively Shaun and Nick will be running the London Marathon this year to raise much needed funds for a cause very close to their families’ hearts.

49% of UK adults say that dementia is the health condition they fear most about getting in the future, including 60% of over 65’s. It is a condition which will very sadly impact most of us at some stage, maybe not directly but through friends and loved ones and from personal experience we can tell you that its effects are both long reaching and extremely distressing.

Alzheimers Research UK Limited is undertaking crucial research to find a cure to dementia ensuring that one day we can grow old without the fear of this cruel disease.

Training is well under way with the heat adding even greater challenge but it’s the very least we can do to support the outstanding work conducted by the ARUK.

We hugely appreciate any support that you can give, which will make every step of the 26.2 miles even more worthwhile.

Our sincere thanks

Shaun and Nick
