Update March 2024: Thank you so much to everyone who has continued to donate to this fund raiser in Brad’s memory. It shows that you still hold him in your thoughts which is all I can hope for. The funds raised have surpassed my wildest expectations. It’s time, however, to close the fundraising. Donations will stop being taken from 21 March 2024, three years after Brad’s death. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your generosity. It does make a difference. 

March 2021: Brad was diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer (signet cell ardenocarcinoma) six months ago and passed on 20 March just a week before his 48th birthday. I would love for him to be remembered with a donation, big or small, to help fund cancer research. 

The symptoms for gastric cancers can be fairly commonplace (eg acid reflux, heartburn) so it is easy to miss completely or misdiagnose. Usually stomach cancer is well advanced by the time it is found, which was Brad’s case as he was always fit, healthy and focused on his gut health (the kombucha king).  By then it was too late for him to be cured.

My hope is that others will benefit where he did not.
