This August I am planning to come alongside Poetice International with a team from Watermark Wesleyan to serve in the community of Choma, Zambia.

Poetice values humbly living in a way as to not wrong one another, to fight in a way to make wrongs right, and empowering others to do the same.  They aim to grow leaders throughout the world that act in love, wisdom, and justice.

Our team will be spending 10 days engaged in relationships and life in Choma, Zambia as we commit to loving everyone we meet.

Over half of Zambia’s population is under the age of 17.  Much of my personal and professional life has been dedicated to loving and supporting children in my home and in my community.  To be able to give 10 days of love and support globally in a country that is full of youthful potential resonates deeply in me.

Choma is the Provincial Capital in the Southern Province of Zambia.  Zambia borders 8 other countries in South Africa and is in a unique positioning to be a catalyst for change in those surrounding areas as well.  Poetice’s focus is in two areas thought to be among the most impoverished communities in the city of Choma. Our trip will include tending to the needs in these communities, including the hospital there.

We live in a global community, especially now. The world is hurting, especially this year.

Where there is brokenness, we seek restoration. Where darkness dwells, we shine a light. - Poetice International  

As I seek to know God more in this, I’m praying that He use this time to wildly multiply our love and efforts to the community of Choma.

That He makes our team a light to where there is darkness in life and soothing, restoring hands to where there is brokenness.

That He teach me and grow in me beautiful and gentle servant leadership abilities that I then share in my home and community.

I pray I learn to trust Him more.
