Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I was introduced to Maggie's Centres last year shortly after returning to the UK.  The Edinburgh Centre was the first to be built and it is quite simply a place for cancer patients and their families to go.  At Maggie's Centres, users receive from dedicated and highly trained staff very practical, emotional and social support during and after cancer treatment.

Through my volunteering I have met some brave and inspirational people who are undergoing or have undergone cancer treatment.  Maggie's Centre' really do make a difference to the lives of people during very difficult and challenging times.  The Centre's are not only are they beautiful, calm and well thought out buildings, but they depend on the generosity of fundraising efforts and donors - they are 100% privately funded.

The Edinburgh Culture Crawl is on 25 September from 6.30pm and is a 10 mile walk around this beautiful City talking in some of the famous, and less famous cultural landmarks.  I am doing this challenge to see more of the City as well as help a great cause.  Please give whatever you can - every penny really helps!  And if you can't give, get involved with Maggie's - it really is very rewarding!

Many thanks,

Sheena X
